Description | The publication will present art activities in pre-school education in the context of its historical development. It defines the specifics of children art expression as a starting point for differentiation of the offer of art activities. It also defines the most important principles of art activities that enable realization of the current goals of pre-school education. It introduces selected innovative interventions as possibilities of improving the quality of preschool education practice through creative activities. In 2018–2020, in connection with specific research at the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University in Brno, qualitative research was carried out, which provided information on the content of art activities in kindergartens and showed the importance that teachers attach to them. The research also revealed whether the offer of art activities is in accordance with the intentions given by the Framework Educational Program for Preschool Education and whether the developmental specifics of the child, including his artistic expression, are respected. It was also found out how stimuli from the fields of art and culture are used in the offer of artistic activities. The results of the research survey became the impetus for interventions in pedagogical practice and the implementation of action research, which verified their effectiveness and functionality. Partial outputs were reflected in the content of individual chapters of the presented professional publication. |
