| Description | Nikolai Nikolaevich Ryzhkov (1868–1920) was in the year 1903 at the birth of the association Pravoslavná beseda in Prague and, during the years 1909-1911, Ryzhkov was the chairperson of this association. In that period, there was no other Orthodox society in the area of Bohemia, Moravia or Silesia. The contribution is dedicated to the activity of the association Pravoslavná beseda whose goal was the spread and propagation of the Orthodox religion in the Czech environment. The aim of the study is point to the fact that, although the member base never reached a more considerable number, the association Pravoslavná beseda laid the foundations of the future Czech Orthodox Church. |
