Description | Carboxymethylcellulose gels with the addition of alaptide and dexpanthenol and their effect on the healing process were evaluated in a circular excision wound model in a laboratory rat. Changes in the levels of interleukin IL 6 and growth factors TGF ß (transforming growth factor ß) and VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor, which reflected the dynamics of individual healing phases), were analyzed by Western blot. The tested substances alaptide and dexpanthenol showed differences in the rate of reepithelialization of the defect, the presence of inflammatory infiltrate and the presence of the granulomatous component compared to the control group. Furthermore, the activity of matrix metalloproteinases MMP 2 and MMP 9, which are involved in tissue remodeling and whose adequate activity is crucial for successful healing, was measured. |
