Description | The paper presents an analysis of planned and realized curricula in pre-service teacher education with respect to student diversity in lower secondary education. Data were curricular documents, syllabi of courses in Education, video-taped lessons, field notes, interviews with pre-service teachers, and their diaries. The results show a variety of discourses in which the planned curriculum is constructed. The realized curriculum is addressed by multiple topics raised by the teachers. Student initiatives occurred rarely, as the pre-service teachers typically do not tend to problematize student diversity; their knowledge in this area seems to be fragmented. |
