Description Authors present a case report of direct corneal neurotization in a patient with a neurotrophic corneal ulcer. Neurotrophic keratopathy is a degenerative disease characterized by impaired sensitivity and trophy of the cornea, there is the development of persistent epithelial defects of the cornea with subsequent collapse of the integrity of the epithelium and stroma, resulting in corneal ulceration and perforation. Corneal anesthesia is caused by paralysis of the trigeminal nerve, herpes infection, chemical irritation of the cornea or trauma. Direct neurotization is a microchurgical procedure in which the sensitive nerve is displaced - in our case the supratrochellar.
