Description | In the ongoing research, the authors deal with the experimental application of current NLP methods to the decisions of Czech courts. At the same time, they seek to bridge the gap between theoretical experimental research and the use of methods in practice in follow-up evaluation research, which determine whether the methods used are really accurate and applicable. To do this, they use these evaluation experiments, in which a group of Czech legal experts evaluates the accuracy of the methods. In this presentation, the authors simply presented the methods used and the results of the evaluation of these methods by a group of lawyers. The greater part of the presentation was devoted to a discussion with a professional audience on the topic of whether the applied methods and the declared accuracy of the methods meet the needs of lawyers when searching in Czech case law. The authors sought to obtain the widest possible feedback on the work of lawyers with case law in practice and on their expectations regarding the tools that should help them in this search. |
