| Description | The paper deals with a gesture in a programmed media context, focusing on artistic creation. It argues in favour of understanding the art of programmed media as a specific kind of gestural art and suggests to be included among the allographic arts (Goodman) such as music or dance. The concept of a programmed artwork as a gestural work emphasizes its performative character (a programmed work as a work-event and a work-process). Moreover, the specific nature of the programmed artworks is illustrated by examples of artworks that are interpreted using the metaphor of air. It allows us to look at these artworks as different constellations and intensities of experience mediated by the programmed works. |
