Description | The study focuses on instructional leadership and change management in the Czech school environment and is based on data from a training course Reditel nazivo. The ability to initiate change and mobilise teachers for instructional im- provement are considered key (and little studied) characteristics of successful school leaders. The multiple case study focuses draws upon in-depth interviews with school leaders and focus groups with teachers, complemented by feedback questionnaire data. The outcomes identify competences and mechanisms facilitat- ing change. The paper verifies the importance of change leadership competence as a critical factor in sustainable school improvement and identifies needs for further research on this under-explored topic. |
