| Description | Authorial anonymity is one of the typical signs of medieval Latin literature. During the research of a literary work with an anonymous author, its textual sign represents the most important means of interpreting the author's personality, when his production brings literary invention to the milieu in which his work is situated in terms of content and genre. This is also the case of the systematically elaborated literary work Gesta Innocentii III, which in its content presents the development and character of the medieval papacy together with its duties in the Christian world. My paper deals with the authorial personality of the Gesta from a literary perspective. I focus on the analysis of the characteristic features of his literary production. |
