| Description | This paper deals with the definition and description of music educational systems in the Czech Republic and in Greece. The author shows how music education is perceived in each country and what processes are settled within the systems. After that she compares both systems and tries to find similarities and differences. In both countries the music education matters. Both countries also have deep history of music. If you ask people of any generation in the Czech Republic for their music education, most of them will answer that between sixth and twentieth year of their life they had attended the music school and had played a musical instrument at least for a few years. Opportunities for music performance studying in Greece are not so rich but one can see that the process of music skills sharing is still more alive in families and non-scholar communities. Moreover, Greeks perform their folk music more than Czechs and are proud of their traditions. |
