| Description | The database represents a register of historical sources of ceramic and brick-making raw materials from the area of interest defined by the project “High medieval pottery as a part of movable cultural heritage” within the NAKI II program- me (Support of Applied Research and Experimental Developments of National and Cultural Identity). The list of clay pits was set up on the basis of the Register of Quarries in Czechoslovakia, issued by the Czech Geological Survey before 1961. The presented database contains 614 entries and it is not a mere digitisation of a literary source. Another added value is the GPS localisation of all clay sources, which were identified with the help of available maps. |
