Description | The solution is a method of preparing an indicator cartridge for filling into detection tubes to detect phosgene and diphosgene in the air, based on the reaction of phosgene / diphosgene with o-phenylenediamine-pyronine to form a red reaction product which arises almost immediately, but no later than within 30 seconds, and is organoleptically visible for at least 180 minutes, the mixture contains a water-insoluble sorbent, or a mixture of at least two water-insoluble sorbents, with a total concentration of 60 to 95% by weight, and containing 5 to 40% by weight of a pore-forming, easily subliming substance, formed into pellets of 0.1 to 3.0 mm in diameter, preferably 0.8 to 1.25 mm; subsequently, the spherical particles in the form of pellets are dried at 20 to 150 ° C for a time allowing sublimation of the pore-forming, easily subliming substances, except for the residual concentration of the pore-forming easily subliming substance in the pellets of 0.1 to 5% by weight, thereby forming pores in the pellets, and subsequently the dried pellets are impregnated with o-phenylenediamine-pyronine in 0.1 to 1.0 g per 100 g of pellets. |
