Description | Cosmology is providing humanity with more and more information about the universe, showing and refining methods to understand the facts, but the universal concept of the whole remains an open domain of research. The scientific narrative demands that we address the big questions after the meaning of life from a cosmological perspective. Science attempts to interpret, to logically organize knowledge in under-explored areas and to predict the future scenario. Cosmology seeks to understand the space, time, energy and matter of the universe but does not outwardly connect strongly with human life. The human world is small compared to space and time, but human work, intelligence, science, technology and culture are very significant in terms of the complexity of the universe. And we see that the increase in complexity is accelerating. In this paper we show that efforts to understand the universe do play a role, especially where thinking about environmental planetary limits and humanity's normative preferences. For the purposes of this research, we develop an empirical metric that examines the possible connection between people's space perspective and their cultural and environmental attitudes. |
