| Description | Recent times saw an increased interest of both professional and non-professional community in the history of brickworks.This interest mainly arises from the effort to identify the producers with the help of brick-maker’s stamps, but also from the demand for a more accurate dating of buildings with the help of metrical and other macroscopically determinable characteristics of bricks. However, unlike the thorough study of this topic by our eastern neighbours, where a long-existing civic association Laterarius has been operating an eponymous website, in our country we are still missing any comprehensive compendia dedicated to this theme. The presented information about the current knowledge of brickworks in the eastern part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands (Vysočina) can be considered a base for further research in the given region. |
