| Description | The aim of the study is to show what role adaptation studies play in the contemporary discursive world: they are not text-centric, they are contextually oriented, and they do not build a canon of culturally prominent texts. They do not reduce culture to a sequence of artworks, they do not suggest that the work is an aesthetic fact of beauty, a transcendental object, but the result of practice that grows out of particular cultural, social, and political conditions. |
