Description | The article introduces the symposium on the book Extra-Legal Influences on Decision-Making of the Czech Constitutional Court, which was published at Masaryk University in 2021. While abroad, and especially in the United States, similar considerations about what influences judicial decisions have been part of scientific discourse for many decades, in the Czech environment it is a relatively new topic. The book of authors from Masaryk University, Brno builds on the current examinations of these phenomena in the decision-making of the Constitutional Court, and places it in a broader context. The author of the article, a judge of the Supreme Administrative Court at the time, who had previously worked in various positions at the Constitutional Court, notices certain inaccuracies presented in the book and disputes some of its conclusions. |
