Description | 70 years ago, in 1952 the Czechoslovak Medical Association of J. E. Purkyně started to publish the scientific journal “Československá farmacie” (Czechoslovak Pharmacy). The journal issued once a month became the official publication of the Pharmaceutical Section of the Association, founded previously in 1951. Its first editor-inchief was Dr. Jan Vacek. After fundamental changes in the organization of the Medical Association in 1968, the Pharmaceutical Section was transformed into the Czechoslovak Pharmaceutical Society. Following the disintegration of Czechoslovakia in 1993, the journal is since the year 1994 published under the title “Česká a slovenská farmacie” (Czech and Slovak Pharmacy) as the common scientific forum of the Czech Pharmaceutical Society and Slovak Pharmaceutical Society. It is issued six times a year, including articles in the Czech, Slovak, and English language. The journal is indexed in several national and international bibliographic databases. |
