Description | In this study, we monitor the activity of Ixodes ricinus ticks in three park localities in the city of Brno and at one locality 100 km from Brno in 2018-2019. Sampling was carried out by ??agging at weekly intervals throughout the growing season, including measurement of meteorological conditions at the sites. The prevalence of selected pathogens in the collected ticks was also studied. For this purpose, PCR analysis involving up to 4 pathogens at a time was carried out. The presence of the following pathogens was analyzed: Borrelia burgdorferi s. l., Anaplasma phagocytophilum, Coxiella burnetii, Ehrlichia chaffeensis, Francisella tularensis, Babesia spp., Toxoplasma gondii. Furthermore, real time PCR for Toxoplasma gondii and dark ??eld microscopy method in selected samples were used. |
