| Description | The paper will present preliminary results of a national prevalence study of the phenomenon of EAN (abuse, neglect and maltreatment in the so-called "broad definition") in the elderly population of the Czech Republic. The project is supported by the TA ČR programme Eta TL05000516 RESTABUS. The aim is to provide empirical data on the prevalence of this phenomenon in the non-institutionalized elderly population. The preparation of the survey was preceded by an interdisciplinary debate on the definitions of the EAN phenomenon and the possibility of supporting its resolution with restorative justice approaches. This innovative approach is based on a change in the conception of the relationship between victim and offender, which is also a major issue for the EAN phenomenon. In addition to preliminary results, methodological challenges and lessons will be discussed. |
