| Description | The text focuses on Václav Havel's studies, essays, reviews, and other contributions on drama and theatre; it is predominantly based on the Anna Freimanová's edition O divadle [On Theatre] (2012). It describes several basic roles Havel occupied in these texts (analyst, theorist, historiographer and critic) and within which he reflected on his own as well as others' theatre production. Selected excerpts from Havel's writings are included to demonstrate specific manifestations of these roles, presenting not only the author's characteristic textual strategies but also his typical style. |
