Description | From a set of at least ninety relief-decorated panel stove tiles and openwork niche tiles from the archaeological research of Skály Castle near Jimramov, it was possible to completely or partially reconstruct nine basic decorative, mainly heraldic motifs, among which the Bohemian lion dominates. The differences in the dimensions of the stove tiles indicate that they could have come from three heating devices that were built in the castle interiors within a short period of time, probably from the 1390s to 1415, when the highest judge of the Brno Provincial Court, Erhart of Skály, resided here. |
