Description | The paper is dedicated to regulation of reconciliation of family life and professional life in the EU law. The first part reminds the history of EU (ex EC) legislation concerning mini-mum requirements for regulation of the parental leave in national laws of Member States. The role of European social partners in adopting acts of secondary law stating minimum requirements for national laws of Member States is mentioned. Subsequently, current requirements defined by EU law for reconciliation of family life and professional obliga-tions of employees with caring duties are analysed. The final part of the paper includes the assessment of EU legislation in force relating to work-life balance. |
