| Description | The chapter describes the process of the establishment of the concept of degrowth during the last decade, both in the scientific and activist community. Further, it discusses the meaning of the term "degrowth" as well as its relation to other disciplines (such as ecological economics, political ecology, etc.). It also maps its history in the Czech Republic and the emergence of the Czech degrowth movement during the last 2 years. Finally, the chapter introduces the personality and writings of one of the current most prominent degrowth authors, Giorgos Kallis. |
