Description The article was created as the result of the research oriented at innovation of methods, content and forms of school teaching of mathematics in connection with improvement of university education of future teachers of mathematics. The aim of the article is to show how it is possible to introduce to students the problem of functional equations and the study of orbital structures of real functions connected with them. These orbital structures enable solving some types of functional equations of a single variable. Some of the problems shown in the article can be solved with the help of the computer programs, which can be used as the motivation for introducing programs MAPLE, DERIVE etc.
