Description This chapter focuses on food as a fundamental aspect within two squatted housing commons (rurban communities) on the hills of Barcelona. The rationale of the chapter is conceiving housing as a common and, nested within it, the perspective of food as a common, which is important because, particularly in Mediterranean countries, the kitchen and the food culture is a fundamental element of inhabiting. Moreover, it can be considered as intangible cultural heritage, where autonomous self-organized practices can also be included (Travlou, 2020) . When joined together, the everyday commoning practices of habitation and of alimentation integrate each other into an enhanced dimension of communal living. Politically speaking, the rationale of the chapter stands where the right to housing meets reclaims for food sovereignty and for agroecology. Housing and alimentation are also central elements of capitalism and contribute heavily to environmental.
