Description | Background: an anterior cruciate ligament lesion can lead to two completely different situations that are influenced by the level of central stabilization of the knee joint. There are two conditions - coper and noncoper. Therefore, after the acute phase has subsided we recommend that functional tests be performed and that their results be taken into account in the subsequent management of therapy. Methodology: in functional testing we mostly use the single leg squat test, the Triple Hop Stability Test, the Drop Jump Test and the Y balance tester. Conclusion: Different stabilization ability explains why some patients are asymptomatic after resolution of the acute LCA lesion. Assessment of functional status is therefore an integral part of the decision-making process for subsequent treatment. |
