| Description | The Print “Praecellens viduarum speculum” (“An excellent mirror of widows”) from a Jesuit author Bartholomaeus Christelius present Františka Slavatová, who was a benefactor of the Probation House in Telč, as a virtuous and devotional widow, as an example to follow. Engraver Jan Adrien Gergardt de Groos realized a frontispiece according to the pattern from a portrait and altarpieces painter Jan Jiří Heinsch. An interpretation of this engraving provide us a space for presentation of a few thoughts from sorted teoretitian in the Czech Aesthetic Thinking Questioning Baroque. |
