Description The aim of the contribution is to approximate the conclusion of the Green Agreement and its application within the Czech Republic, in particular with a reflection on the economy of the state. The Czech Republic, like many other European Union states, has supported and committed itself to the objectives of this agreement. In the context of this accession, the government of the Czech Republic has already approved an energy-climate plan (NECP) in 2020. The main task of the agreement was to achieve economic growth while maintaining a healthy environment and thus preparing the European Union for the various challenges of the 21st century, including helping to rebuild the economy, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, a large part of the state budget is devoted to the realisation of the objectives resulting from this agreement, which must not be charged to the already burdened Czech economy. The question remains, however, whether all the Member States of the European Union that have committed themselves to the individual objectives of the agreement will have sufficient funding to meet them. For nearly three years, the European economy has been struggling exhaustedly with the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, the aim of the text is to map out the core reasons representing the achievement of the objectives of the agreement in view of the burden not only on the Czech economy, but also on the policies of all the Member States of the European Union affected by the agreement.
