Description | The study commemorates the 80th anniversary of the death of the writer Vladislav Vančura (1891–1942) and his multifaceted work. It focuses mainly on his less known essayistic and critical texts, published mainly in magazines and later summarized in the book The Order of New Creation (1972). Vančura's definition of literary criticism is followed by texts on Czech poets, prose writers and their works, for example S. K. Neumann, Karel Toman, Otokar Fischer, Jaroslav Seifert, Vítězslav Nezval, Vladimír Holan, Jiří Mahen, Fráňa Šrámek, Jaromír John, Jaroslav Hašek, Karel Nový, Josef Kopta or the brothers Čapek. |
