| Description | Xanthones are secondary plant metabolites with significant biological activity. Maclura pomifera is an interesting source of these compounds. Using chromatographic methods, several compounds were isolated from the bark of this tree, of which osajaxanthone, toxyloxanthone C and mesuaxanthone A were identified by HPLC, MS and NMR. Identification continues for other substances. |
