Description Electronicization and digitization of healthcare are perceived as a current topic. However, one could say that electronicization in healthcare has continued since the discovery of electricity and imaging methods. The goal of electronicization (and undoubtedly also digitization) is to increase the quality of healthcare provided. To maximize the benefits of digital transformation, continuous and coordinated change is needed in medicine and pharmacy. And therefore, pharmacy itself must go through a similar process. But when did the actual use of modern technologies in healthcare begin? How do they benefit healthcare workers, and how do they help patients? How does the literature see individual terms, and where do the origins of the use of some terms related to digitalization and electronicization go? In our work, we focused on approximately 20 terms related to digital health. Using four databases, we tried to capture when the given terms were used for the first time in the professional literature and to identify the oldest definitions appearing in available publications.
