| Description | The text deals with spiritual life of the Old Slavs who at the time of their arrival in our territory practiced a pagan religion that surely concerned all aspects of their lives, the perception of themselves and their environment. Today, we reconstruct the complex idea of their religious concepts with the help of analogies with other cultures, we draw from period sources and contextualize archaeological material evidence with ethnographic material. All this gives us a complex image of the Slavic pantheon of deities and ways of their worship, an idea about the form of sacred precincts with cult objects and the nature of rituals accompanying people throughout their lives up to the afterlife. |
