Description | Modern information and communication technologies (ICT) represent a significant milestone in the development of postmodern society. They facilitate and simplify access to information, allow global interconnection of the world through the Internet, transmission and processing of different kinds of data. ICT intervene in almost all fields of human activity, including education and professional pursuits. In addition to the benefits of ICT, there are a number of disadvantages and risks, including the theft and misuse of information in the personal and commercial spheres, threats to state and individual security, and potentially addictive behaviors. Almost every person living in today's advanced society uses some form of ICT - surfing the internet, communicating via e-mail, moving around in social networking environments, ordering goods in an e-shop, chatting, handling payments online, educating with help e-learning, listens and monitors to multimedia, saves and downloads data from the cloud, If a person can limit these activities to the necessary time, set limits and self-control, everything is fine. ICT help, do not interfere negatively with personal life, employment, interpersonal relationships. Man devotes a limited time to manipulating ICT at work, he can effectively use working time and personal leisure, actively entertain and relax. In the case that ICTs cease to serve but begin to control it, the tolerable rate has been exceeded. It is manifested by the large amount of time spent handling ICT, procrastination in privacy and employment, the impossibility of detaching ICT for a long time, the urgent need for superficial communication or play, loss of good friends, ignorance of duties and higher interests, social declassification. The long-term impact of ICT overuse and dependency has not only serious psychological and social consequences but also leads to food behavior disorders, neglect of movement habits, personal hygiene, leakage from real to virtual world, loss of financial resources. Above all, children and teenagers are increasingly vulnerable to manipulation, cyberbullying, stalking, manipulation, fraud and abuse. It is therefore very important for children to learn about these pitfalls from pre-school age and lead them to a healthy lifestyle and a rational use of ICT. Problems with ICT overuse are documented in case studies of 6 adolescent informants hospitalized due to their psychological problems. Survey, semi-structured interview and analysis of professional documentation were used for the research. |
