| Description | The presentation will introduce industrial sites uncovered by rescue archaeological excavations in Brno - the chemical factory Hochstetter and Schickardt, the textile factory A.F. Schwab and especially the key site of the former textile factory Vlněna. It is one of the main centres of Brno's textile industry and research was carried out here between 2016 and 2022 over an area of more than 2.5 hectares. The rescue archaeological research at the site has made it possible to investigate the origin and development of textile operations and has contributed significantly to current knowledge of industrial archaeology in czech republic. The development of our approach to industrial sites and research methodology, as well as the attitude of investors towards industrial archaeology will be outlined. We will present a model of cooperation with TIC Brno and the Technical Museum Brno in promoting industrial archaeology in Brno and our plans for the future. |
