Description | Functional public spaces that are prepared for climate change are places of social and informational interaction and the foundation of a democratic society. The quality of public space is closely related to the quality of life of its inhabitants, but urban planners lack social science approaches and methods to identify the real needs of future users of public space. Public spaces are often designed without research or sensitivity to local residents. This shortcoming can be better understood by using the theory of information horizons, which can define information barriers for urban planners in adapting public spaces to climate change. |
