Description | In 1944, the Moravian Catholic politician and journalist František Metod Žampach attributed the project of the pilgrimage church of St. Liborius in Jesenec to architect Jan Santini-Aichel. He combined his work here for the estate of the Premonstratensian monastery in Brno-Zábrdovice with Santini's other work for the monastery - the pilgrimage church in Křtiny near Brno. Since then, art historians have debated the correctness of this attribution. The lecture in the interior of the church mainly commemorated the anniversary of the death of the important Baroque architect Santini and showed the basic principles of his work. In the final part, attention was drawn directly to the remarkable architectural details of the church in Jesenec and its important place in the academic line of Central European Baroque architecture was presented. |
