Description | The present article focuses on archival materials in which it is possible to find contemporary reactions to texts by Abram Terc, or Andrej Sinyavský, published before the author's true identity was revealed. Andrei Sinyavsky (1925-1997) was a Russian literary scholar, critic and writer. In 1966 he was sentenced to seven years in a labour camp for publishing his own texts under the name Abram Terc outside the USSR. After his release, he emigrated to France. The texts featured here were chosen primarily for the sensitivity with which their authors are able to portray the writer's portrait and at the same time understand his conception of art. |
