| Description | German studies can look back on a long tradition in the Czech university landscape. Today, it is divided into linguistics and literary studies, didactics and cultural studies, both in terms of teaching and research. This article offers a balancing view of the development of Czech university German studies in all its sub-areas, with a focus on the last five years. I address the number of German Studies locations, the development of staff and student numbers, the career opportunities of graduates and research activities. In addition, perspectives for the future are outlined. |
