| Description | Saliva could represent suitable biological matrix for drug determination as it is considered as the plasma ultrafiltrate. Thus saliva should reflect free fraction of drug, i.e. drug concentration which is responsible for effect; tharapeutically active. The other aspect of saliva sampling is its easy, painless, non-invasive without any stress or other compication and any source of infection is prevented. The determination of antiepileptic drugs (drug concentration measurement) is utilized for personalized disease treatment and compliance. This is rationale for availablity of a suitable analytical method which enables determination of several drugs in one run. We adopted and characterized LC-MS method fot this purpose. Results of method validation reflects critical values set for bioanalytical method validation. Thus, validated LC-MS method enables reliable quantitation of most of the selected drugs in saliva. |
