| Description | The presented methodology includes a multi-detection instrumental analytical method for 9 different cytostatic drugs, which are most often used in hospitals and occur frequently and at high levels in the indoor environment of healthcare facilities. The methodology involves simple extraction and sample preparation followed by rapid analysis using liquid chromatography (LC) coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS). The monitored markers of cytotoxic drugs are drugs with different therapeutic effects and with different physico-chemical properties resulting to the different stability in the indoor environment. The method describes validation characteristics, including variability and recovery for samples obtain from different surfaces in an indoor environment of healthcare facilities. This certified methodology is the result of the project "Monitoring of exposure to cytotoxic drugs in healthcare workers and family members of oncology patients, risk analysis, development of recommended procedures" (NV18-09-00188). |
