| Description | This lecture will briefly introduce the issue of exedrae - their meaning, appearence, dating, purpose, decoration and location. It will also outline the question regarding the primary and secondary purpose of construction along with the honorific and commemorative presentation of persons associated with these types of structures. Within the Delphi as a case study, individual exedra will be presented, linked to different classes of the population - from slaves to influential ad wealthy citizens to the highest aristocracy. |
