| Description | The study deals with the state of trivial schooling (Trivialschulwesens) in the greater part of the Brno region, for which an extensive set of school reports (the so called ‚,fassiones‘‘ in Latin) from 1787 to 1791 has been preserved, arising from the activities of the regional school commissioner. The research has focused on the level of success of the school reforms, which now affected all segments of the population. However, in practice the numerous reforms were visible only partly and often at a slower pace. The situation can be observed in the increase in the number of trivial schooling (Trivialschulwesens) the failure to achieve general school attendance, in teachers’ qualifications and certificates and the condition of school buildings. Many findings were compared with data from Bohemia. |
