Description | The conference paper focused on the impact of social exclusion on individuals and analysed various aspects of this issue. The authors used case studies to show that social exclusion with its specificities in the Czech Republic (lack of housing, segregated education, institutional care, foreclosures and centralization of social services) affects individuals at every stage of their lives. It is the precariousness of livelihoods and overcrowded housing that can affect relationships with self and others and cognitive functions. Among the descriptions of the effects on cognitive function, the presentation mainly dealt with explaining the perception of time under constant stress, which was directed to the target audience - workers in social services and helping organizations. Similarly, the presentation mapped the availability of social services in the Carlsbad region and the possibilities of establishing and running helping organizations. |
