Description | On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, a joint conference of the Department of History of State and Law and the Department of Criminal Law entitled "Criminal Offences against Freedom and Human Dignity Yesterday and Today" was held at the Faculty of Law, Masaryk University, where almost 60 participants discussed in two conference sections historical development and the current legal regulation in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The proceedings in both sections of the conference (legal history and criminal law) brought a number of stimulating and questionable topics to which the participants devoted almost the whole day. The individual contributions and subsequent debates proved well that Czech and Slovak science of legal history and science of criminal law brings new topics to the field of crimes against freedom and human dignity worthy of both further scientific investigation and having practical implications for the life of contemporary society. The regular organization of joint conferences of these two departments has a long tradition at the faculty dating back to 2013. |
