Description | Proof of Humanity is a protocol designed to combat Sybil attacks in blockchain networks. Like other Proof of Personhood implementations, it allows users to prove their uniqueness on the blockchain, enabling new applications such as democratic governance in Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) where each user has one vote. The Proof of Humanity DAO, the governance body of the protocol, serves as an example of this democratic approach. However, the protocol has faced challenges such as exploitation, internal conflicts, and the declining value of its Universal Basic Income token experiment, hindering its development and growth. These challenges offer valuable lessons for other Proof of Personhood implementations and DAOs wanting to adopt more democratic governance principles. |
