Description | The new consumer protection regulation introduces a number of new obligations which, among other things, target consumer protection in the online environment, to which the consumer relationship has largely shifted and which brings new opportunities for consumer manipulation. These newly introduced protection tools include the regulation of the possibilities to publish online reviews on various commercial platforms. As part of the new obligations, these platforms must therefore include verified reviews. This obligation, however, raises a number of interpretative or technical uncertainties, such as the methods of verification, the possibility of retaining old or read reviews, or the possibility of publishing unverified reviews at all, which are the subject of the following article. |
