Description | Folk songs have long been the starting point for the development of children's musical abilities in the Czech Republic. The Department of Music at the Faculty of Education in Brno has systematically investigated the attitudes of music teachers towards folk songs with regard to the changes in cultural and social development. Beginning locally, the study expands to the Netherlands and Hungary, offering insights into Western and Eastern European perspectives. Surveys and interviews reveal nuanced approaches, reflecting historical and cultural influences. This comparative analysis provides valuable insights, emphasizing the need for culturally sensitive music education practices. |
