Description The paper presented in the international symposium organized by ICTM and the Czech Academy of Sciences highlights the capping ceremony as part of traditional Slavic weddings. Symbolical meanings of folk clothing and folk songs were outlined. While the capping of brides is now rarely practiced in the Uherské Hradiště region, efforts are underway to revive the ritual through a reconstruction project.
