Description | To develop somewhere successfully over the years means not only working on innovations, following the best practices, but most importantly a basic mutual respect of all actors involved in the development, but even better a structured and meaningful collaboration of these actors. Based on the data from the Mediadelcom project, which focuses on mapping the data base of media research in selected countries and interviews with key actors in the development of media landscapes. I will focus in the presentation on verifying the assumption of (non-)cooperation of individual actors of media development towards democracy in the Czech Republic and how this situation is perceived by the interviewees. In doing so, I draw specifically on 16 qualitative interviews with four groups of actors: academia lecturers and researchers; policy actors; media industry actors; and state institutions, governmental and NGOs actors. This study has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the grant agreement No 101004811 (within the project Critical Exploration of Media Related Risks and Opportunities for Deliberative Communication: Development Scenarios of the European Media Landscape—MEDIADELCOM). The presentation reflects only the author’s/authors’ views, which do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the European Research Executive Agency. Neither the European Union nor the Granting Authority can be held responsible for them. |
