Description | Anacaena bipustulata is vulnerable hydrophilid beetle in the Czech Republic. This species is mostly found in standing or slowly running waters with well-developed littoral zone. Here we present new records of this species at three post-industrial sites: i) lagoon for ash deposit, ii) old kaolin pit, and iii) pool at lignite spoil heap, the North Bohemian lignite basin, north-western Bohemia, Czech Republic. Moreover, we summarized historical and current distribution of this species in the area of the Czech Republic and we discussed the relationship of the species to anthropogenic disturbed sites. |
